“El Tigre//The Tiger” This is my AMC Hornet 1980,actually is a “VAM (Vehículos Automotores Mexicanos) American 1980”,the Mexican version of the Concord two doors or Hornet or someting, this car actually is one of a few models was made in México after in USA was discontinued. This cars is the evolution of the Hornet, with equipped of the AMC Eagle like 3 shifts gearbox, and dashboard from the Concord and Eagle, and the old 258 engine, the old glass of Hornet . It was the cheaper model of VAM after the Gremlin, based in the AMC Gremlin. In México was produced another four door version of this car (The American 4 doors), and the luxury version Concord (also 2 doors and 4doors) with acc ,power steering wheel and those things, and the Eagle Wagon called in México “Guayin” This car like the others “exclusive” Mexican models included a model that was never built in USA the “Lerma” 5 doors, based in the AMC Spirit, was and excelent way to build a cheap cars, with a middle performance, and real cars, not the new cars of plastic.With 258 L6 engine,and like Han Solo say “I’ve made a lot of special modifications myself…” (manual transmission 4 shifts Hurst, one barrel by Carter,original aluminium rims from AMC Pacer,the front is an AMC Spirit, AMC Javelin steering wheel) Is the faster junk in the galaxy. In México is a real special car.
